They can also watch television programs in the evening. On Sunday they can go out to meet their parents, relatives, local guardians and friends. They can also go shopping, but can’t engage in mind-distracting activities. We also observe certain holy days such as the founding anniversary of the institute, the anniversary of His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche’s parinirvana, the anniversary of the omniscient Longchenpa’s parinirvana, the anniversary of Mipham Rinpoche’s parinirvana, the tenth and twenty-fifth days of the lunar month, the Tibetan New Year celebration and an intensive practice period during Saga Dawa, the fourth month. There will be tsok offerings or ceremonies performed on the aforementioned holy days. There are some circumstances under which one may legitimately take leave from the aforementioned tsok offerings or ceremonies on these days, including additional ceremonies performed for the general well-being and for specific individuals, and other kinds of urgent activities. But other than those special circumstances, the ongoing schedule of the ceremonies should be maintained and strictly followed as laid out above.

Students who are not able to attend classes or ceremonies due to serious health problems or other mishaps should seek prior permissions from those who are on duty. They should also follow any other directives that may be issued from time to time.
