Since 1991, H.E. Yeshe Sangpo Rinpoche and H.E. Khandro Pema Chodron have been invited to the United States every year to give teachings, presiding over various ritual ceremonies and guiding disciples to practice Dharma. Later, in Sunnyvale, California, Rinpoche and Khandro founded the Samye Memorial International Buddhist Foundation. This permanent Buddhist center aims to systematically introduce to the Western societies the ideas and approaches to practicing authentic Tibetan Buddhism on a long-term, sustainable basis. It further provides the general public with an in-depth understanding and practice of the Vajrayana Dharma. In addition to occasional ritual ceremonies, the Foundation holds weekly Preliminary Practice of Dzogchen (the Great Perfection) teachings every Friday and monthly Tsok offerings, so disciples can practice Rinpoche’s teachings on a regular basis.
Every year, depending on the duration of stay, H.E. Yeshe Sangpo Rinpoche and H.E. Khandro Pema Chodron Rinpoche organize various Dharma promulgating activities, including lectures, seminars, empowerments, and other ritual ceremonies. With his great wisdom, infinite compassion, wit and humor, Rinpoche draws every disciple who longs for the ultimate peace in mind. Rinpoche’s teachings always relieve bewildered beings from sufferings by all skillful means in a timely manner, so he is deeply respected and beloved by his disciples.
